The Kitchen Compost Carrier from Busch Systems Still Going Strong After 11 Years
July, 2008
With the objective of helping municipalities and counties increase composting program
participation rates, Busch Systems designed the unique Kitchen Compost Carrier that would
initially compliment backyard composting systems. Made with post consumer recycled material
and introduced back in 1997, the Kitchen Composter Carrier (a.k.a. KC-2000) has remained a hot
product for all varieties of composting programs.
This 2.4 gallon container acts as a handy bin for storing and transporting food wastes from the
kitchen to the backyard composter. The easy to open and close snap-down lid comes with a
built-in activated carbon air filter that secures odors inside while allowing aeration to help properly
break down compostables. All corners and edges are rounded making it much easier to clean
and empty, in addition to being dishwasher safe. The wide opening of the KC-2000 makes it
easy to clean off dishes directly into the container. Hang this Kitchen Compost Carrier on a wall
or cupboard door with two screws that fit in the back of the bin. This allows users to save counter
space and maintain an easy to reach, convenient location.
The Kitchen Compost Carrier has since evolved into a smaller version, known as the KC-1000.
With its 1.45 gallon capacity, the KC-1000 is a wonderful alternative for smaller composting
programs and/or homes with fewer residents.
